Dana Jennings

I think that my favorite part of Dana Jenning's book so far is the way that he uses description. For example, in the first chapter when he describes his background he uses a number of images to help the reader identify with an upbringing/ lifestyle that they may be unfamiliar with like "record ripe with country darkness." I also thought that the analysis of Johnny Cash's "I Walk the Line" was really great, because it showed how someone who didn't have a country upbringing might interpret a country song differently, that the people who have real country roots get more out of the music than those who listen to it purely because its on the top 100 hit list.
