i feel like i shouldn't say this because we have a connection to the author, but i don't really like this book. i think its interesting when he talks about his family, but the long stretches of analysis of country music is just not interesting to me. i find it very repetitive and like i'm getting better acquainted with Johnny Cash than Dana Jennings.
what i do like about this is that the writing style makes me think in a country accent. it's very distinct however it does make it dense and hard to read at times.
